History

Lakewood Catholic Academy opened in August 2005 and conjoined Saint Clement, Saint James and Saint Luke. In 2010 they also welcomed elementary schools Saint Cyril and Methodius.

With a 9-acre campus on land dating back to 1891, history is glorious. These same grounds were once the home of the pioneering Sisters of Charity of Saint Augustine and is quite a landmark. The sisters first journey was from France to Cleveland in 1851. This journey was for healthcare and ministry services. The journey started in Ohio City and blossomed into Lakewood in 1891. Lakewood has been home for not just over 15 years but over 100 years!

Lakewood Catholic Academy proudly carries the same model as the Sisters: service, strength and perseverance. They educated 450 students between K-8 and 210 children within the early childhood program.

Traditions

The goal for all students is the become the tradition. Every school year is welcomed with open arms and “the saints go marching in.” They also have annual service projects.

The first and most important goal is to foster a love of learning and for that love to follow them their entire life. Secondly, they want learning to go beyond just a classroom which is why they have annual field trips. These trips can be anywhere from a concert, farms and more.

They also have sports teans!
