Village Midwifery for Caring Support & Experienced Midwives

We have all heard the African Proverb, “It takes a village to raise a child.” It is a phrase we have heard many times to convey that it takes many people to help create a safe, healthy, and enriching environment for children to flourish. That saying doesn’t only apply to once the child is born, but also while in the womb. When you’re expecting a little one on the way, every step of your journey from conception to delivery matters. Village Midwifery takes this sentiment to heart, ensuring each family receives dedicated support and guidance.

Services

Midwifery

Your midwife wants you to have well-rounded care. They want to work WITH you and your partner, along with other practitioners or community members involved in your journey. Village Midwifery will assign every birthing person a support team: midwife, midwifery assistant, mental health counselor, and pelvic floor physical therapist.

Doula

Your birth doula is trained to provide physical and emotional support throughout pregnancy and childbirth.

Craniosacral Therapy

Craniosacral therapy is a very gentle hands-on technique that uses a light touch to improve the functionality of the central nervous system.

Monitrice

A monitrice is a hybrid between a doula and a midwife trained to provide support throughout your pregnancy, childbirth, and postpartum. They can also assist couples in planning a hospital birth and/or a VBAC.

Placenta

Placenta encapsulation and placenta tincture are ideal for boosting recovery during your immediate postpartum period and are believed to have many positive effects on your recovering body and mind.

Intrauterine Insemination

Your midwife will place washed sperm in the uterus to help you become pregnant and have the family you dream about.
